Summary | 0000636: Wrong *****TRUNCATED**** message and fixed MAX_LINES in cat()
Description | I saw two issues in the efun cat(): 1) the efuns adds the message *****TRUNCATED**** to the player, if the requested number of lines exceeds MAX_LINES (50). Due to an off-bye-one error the message gets also added, if no output is missing (e.g. a file has MAX_LINES lines and all are printed to the user - there is still a *****TRUNCATED****.) 2) MAX_LINES should be at least compile-time configurable. Right now there is no possbility to change it in config.h/configure.

3) Non-english-speaking MUDs should have a chance to change the text. |
Ok, there was a suggestion to remove the efun (write/tell_object() + read_file() is nearly the same). Anybody strongly against this? |
Good idea. |
Ok. Because we decided to trash this efun in 0000637, I close this as WONTFIX. |
